Act one
Once upon a time, there was a baker who loved baking donuts.
Every Day, he baked donuts for his small town.
Until one day, he dreamed of sharing his love for donuts with more than the few people in his hometown.
Act Two
So he packed all of his bags and supplies and left for the city. Being his first time in the big city, he was shocked to find busy-bodies, an orchestra of horns & sirens and not to mention not a single warm-welcome from anyone on the neighborhood block.
Being an outsider, he began to feel lonely and immediately missed home. “What was I thinking leaving home? How am I going to make it in this big city and why would anyone care what I have to offer?”
Like the determined baker he was, he rolled up his sleeves got to baking. He remembered his passion for baking and how happy it made him to roll the dough, the smell of donuts rising and swirls of color left painted on his counters after completing each batch of donuts.
Soon the smell of all of the donuts he was baking filled every home and building. Neighbors and city-goers traveled down many city blocks to find where the yummy smell was coming from. Until finally, the lines were so long the baker opened up a small shop in the middle of the big city and passionately began to bake a gazillion donuts for every one in the city.
Act Three
And ever since then, the baker remembered his passion and love of baking and that same joy and delight overflowed to all the people in the city.
The moral of the story is not lose sight of your goals and passions no matter the odds or how displaced you may feel. When you are proud of who you are and where you come from the joy of your unique gifts overflow to others effortlessly.
