Hi everyone! This opportunity has been enjoyable and eye-opening. I've really learned a lot through this and gained some inspiration along the way. Even though my reel is currently unfished, I will continue working on it and probably publish it online at some point.
Anyway, I hope that you enjoy!
The following is the transcript of my narration of the story reel.
Act 1
Sometimes, things aren’t always what they seem. There are times when things turn out for the worse, but there are also times where the good overcomes the advisory. We begin our story with a teen named Cody whose world has been rocked, shattered, however you’d want to put it. Basically, while Cody is from a futuristic world, the potential for worldview shattering event is still there.
Cody sits at one of the many windows around one of the empty complexes that neighbor his home just thinking.
‘I mean the whispers about him were right, there’s no denying it.’ Thought Cody.
A flashback cuts to Cody’s most recent day in class, the incident that led Cody to look through his father’s office. One classmate mentioned a recent meeting between Cody’s father and one of his associates. Cody dropped his pen in shock and quietly picked it back up hoping not to draw attention. It meant that what his father told him was a lie, he had not misheard the new directive concerning the issue of how to contact the newest planet with intelligent life.
Suddenly, a portal opened, interrupting Cody’s thoughts.
“What the?” He said out loud in shock.
Cody dropped down from the window and walked towards the portal to investigate.

Act 2:
Cody closed his eyes and walked through the portal. Cody stopped in shock at what he saw and barely registered the portal closing behind him.
Eventually, Cody found a path that led to what looked like a major city. Cody stopped in shock as the city looked like none he’d seen before. His foot steps slowed down to a halt as his gaze landed on the castle and the surrounding buildings and walls. He was furthered startled when the gates opened, and a group of people came out.
Unsure of what to do, Cody slowly walks back to a little outcropping that he saw a little while ago hoping not to draw attention to himself.
“Hopefully, it will be easier to blend in once the sun sets. There’s no way I’m not going to get noticed looking like this. There was a castle! A castle intact in a huge city!” Cody said out loud to himself.
Cody walked farther into the cave and stumbled upon a door that looked similar to the ones from his world.
Cody recoils in shock when the door opens for him. Cautiously, Cody walks inside, while half-expecting the door to suddenly bolt shut and breathes a sigh of relief as it remains open.
Inside, Cody finds a secret lab that was filled with a bunch of books and pieces of paper scattered about on the various surfaces that inhabited the lab and futuristic tech. Cody walked over to one of the tables and picks up one of the books.
‘The Great Dragon War.’ Cody reads. ‘One of the great historical events on this world’ He continues.
‘I need something a little more recent though. Maybe I’ll come back to it.’ Cody thought as he placed the book down.
Picking up another, he read. ‘Portal Tracking, I have learned that the missing Prince of Mythos still resides in this world. No word though of his location.’ Cody skipped a head a little intrigued. ‘That seems promising.’
‘I have taken to tracking to tracking the natural conditions under which a portal forms in hopes of avoiding farther detection from the prince’s enemies in my attempts to journey home.’ Cody paused and sighed. ‘Not sure I really want to go back.’
Cody skipped a little more. ‘Rescue beacon sent out and reply received. Among my parting thoughts, this research mission, while it managed to achieve its goals, is one that I have no intention of repeating.’
‘So, he made it out.’ Thought Cody as he skipped to some of the last pages that were filled in the journal.
‘If this note finds a way into the hands of someone not from this world like me, please listen carefully, this world is not all that it seems, simply put, while there are many wonders all around, there are just as many dangers.’ Cody paused.
‘Yeah, I think I found that one out pretty quick.’ Cody joked a little half-heartily.
Cody skimmed the rest of the directions and then got to the end. ‘And finally, the code is to ask for a Dr. Keygelat.’

Act 3
Cody looks over the directions again.
“How long did he get stuck here? This place. I- This place seems great, but I don’t think I can survive here alone.” Cody said out loud.
With his mind made up, Cody then proceeds to follow the directions to a tee. A comforting hum started to drone throughout the lab. Cody closed his eyes for a second taking in the familiar sound. Cody then opened his eyes with a sigh still conflicted. Cody hesitated a little, but still hit the final switch. “Here goes nothing I guess.”
Then a man appeared on the screen. “Hello. Can you hear me? I received your message.”
Cody startled a little when the man’s questioning look shifted into a soft smile. “Why hello there. I’ll take that this is the case of accidental dimensional travel?”
Cody simply nodded still a little bit in shock in how he was addressed.
“You look about to be my kids age, do you by chance go to the academy?” Asked Dr. Keygelat in a soft voice.
“I don’t think it’s the same one sir.” Cody paused for a second. “I’m not sure we’re even from the same dimension. My father-“Cody stopped again. “And the teachers would’ve surely mentioned you if there was a known chance that any of us would’ve gotten stuck in a different world.”
Cody then went on describing his dimension to Dr. Keygelat and answered any questions that he was asked.
“I see.” Said Dr. Keygelat. “Yes, from your descriptions and answers of my questions, you are correct in the assumption of being from an entirely different dimension than that of myself and my colleague.”
“So that pretty much confirms that you’ve never met my father.”
“Indeed, and from the sound of it, we would not have gotten along.” Dr. Keygelat smiled at Cody who returned the smile with a small on. “Let’s see what we can do. And Cody, looks like my kids could have some competition on their hands depending where you decide to go from here.”
“Where I decide to go from here.” Cody said in awe with a small smile.
And so, Cody ended up being pulled into Dr Keygelat’s dimension where he would be enrolled into one of the top academies dedicated to preparing for one of the many tracks that centered upon the subjects both dimensional and time travel. Though the choice of how Cody would be attending these classes remained up in the air, there was one thing for certain, Cody’s life changed for the better. And eventually, those invasion plans were no more.
