Q

Question: How do I decide if my dialogue is good or cheesy?
_____________________________________________________________________

There are several ways to see how your dialogue sounds. One is to read it out loud and see if it sounds strange or unnatural to your own ears. If that doesn't help, you can read it to others or perhaps getting other people to read it to you. Other people may have some insight or hear something you don't and, if they are reading it out loud, they may even say the dialogue in a way that helps you understand how it could be understood, misinterpreted or changed. It is also important to make sure that the dialogue matches the context it is said in and provides information to audiences without being too expositional. Less, in this case, is definitely more.
