A man gets the video game “scaffold jump” and enjoys playing it. Later him and his girlfriend get in a fight, and he moves out, forgetting the game and the console. The girlfriend finds it, and has a lot of fun playing it. When she beats the game, Daniel turns to the player during the good job screen, and actually sees her for the first time. He is instantly smitten, knowing that she is the one and that he has to be with her.

Daniel explores and finds the connecting area, and goes to one game to talk to a hermit to find out how to be with her. The hermit tells him that he has to cross over to the real world. But, plot twist, someone was playing the hermits game when Daniel shows up, and reports it to the game company (antagonist) as a glitch. They start putting up obstacles in Daniels path, until he is able to get to the fire wall, but the company has made it so hard, that he can’t pass through

Daniel eventually breaks through, but what he is about to go through is like no other. There is immense pain on his digital and mental state in order to become physical. He feels like he is going to die. But he doesn’t. He does pass out though. He then wakes up in a GameStop bathroom. When he comes out, he is confronted by a man in a tuxedo. This man works for game co. He takes him to a board meeting where they ask Daniel his motives. He tells them the complete and honest truth “I am in love, and I wish to be with her. Help me if you can. Otherwise, stay out of my way.” They decide that they are done messing with him. But they also tell him that he can’t just walk up to her house and tell her he loves her. He could get arrested for that. Just ask to buy her a coffee if you see here on the streets. They give him money and an offer for a job there. He later sees her, and like they said, offered to buy her a coffee. The movie fades out with them enjoying each other at the coffee date
