Once upon a time a demigod named Evangeline came to a small town in Greece with her mother. She had left home in hopes of having a new life. They searched for a long time looking for a home that was just right. Soon, Evangeline´s mother found the perfect home and decided to enroll Evangeline in a public school. At school she was bullied everyday for being different. No other kids had horns growing out of their heads. But one day a new boy came to school. He was small and red with little devil horns, another demigod. Evangeline and the boy became quick friends. As their friendship grows they start to go on adventures and have fun together. Evangeline tells her friend about where she is from, a place where everyone is different and nobody judges one another. They decide to visit. With her mom´s glass vase, Evangeline starts collecting bits of money for their trip.
Evangeline begins to go around town looking for jobs in order to make some money. Nobody wants to hire her because they think she is a freak. One woman is kind enough to help her though. She offers her a job as a pottery maker. Money starts to come in quickly. With the help of her friend the money jar fills fast. Finally they meet their goal! Suddenly Evangeline´s mother is in trouble. Her landlord wants her out of the house unless she triples the rent. He dislikes Evangeline´s family because they are demi gods. Evangeline knows she must give her mom the money they had saved up.
She's been very upset for many weeks. She won't even leave her room. One day she goes into the garden to cry on her tree swing. Her landlord appears from his yard and sees her crying. He feels absolutely horrible for what he has done. He apologized and gives her the money back. Evangeline tells her friend the amazing news. Their dream will come true after all.
